    Failed C5-C6 Neck Fusion

I had ACDF surgery (anterior cervical discectomy and fusion) at the beginning of Feb. this year. I went in this week to have the xray to check on the fusion of C5-6. It had not fused at all. I'm so discouraged. I have formerly been a smoker but quit in Dec. of last year after almost dying during a long hospital stay due to breathing problems. I've followed all of the neurosurgeons instructions yet this is the result. He has prescribed a bone stimulator for me and I should receive the call for the technician to come out in the next week to get me started. I'd love to hear from any others that have experienced this. Did it finally fuse? Did you have to have the surgery done again? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much for your help!
