    sacralization of L5 vertebra

I have a question on behalf of my sister, she was having acute back pain for last three to four years. Now this MRI report says that she is having "disc desiccation with diffuse disc bulge and left paracentral extruded disc at L4-5 level causing bilateral lateral recess stenosis and compression of traversing L5 nerve roots (L>R)". The doctor says that she has to go through a surgery, but she will not be able to conceive after that as she is married and is planning for baby.

I wanted to know that does this problem have any relation with conceiving for a lady? Also what are the remedies except surgery for this type of problem, if only surgery is the option then which type of surgery i should go for and will it remove the pain for life?

if you can help me in this i would be greatful to you.
