    Left Side Loss of Sensation/Numbness

    Good morning.
My aunt, (69 years old) had a right side stroke on 7/17/2016. Her therapy is going well, her major deficits seem to be left side neglect/peripheral vision problems, minor cognitive impairments (multi-tasking etc.) and perhaps the most frustrating for her, left sided numbness/sensory impairment. The muscles move fine, there is no paralysis. She can walk with a walker (with assistance), can move her arm and hand but she has no feeling in her limbs. This makes walking scary for her, using her hand difficult, she can't tell how hard she is squeezing, temperature etc. She is hoping to regain as much independence as possible obviously. I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this. I know everyone's recovery is different, however, based on your experiences, Will the feeling come back? How long does it usually take? Are there any exercises we can do to help. Her PTs, and OTs have been great but we want to help her along.
