Stroke when in an induced coma for double pneumonia

why would this happen? induced coma for double pneumonia, 9 nights in and now being told she has suffered a severe stroke and small heart attack? why would this happen?

Have you asked the doctors? People do not get put into medical induced comas for pneumonia unless there are other symptoms....maybe a stroke was suspected and they wanted to protect the patient from a possible brain bleed or maybe there was such high hypertension it was the best way to hopefully protect the patient from further damage...but you'll need to find out all the details starting with why the coma was induced to begin with.

I am sorry you are having to deal with this. It cannot be easy.
