    Considering to discontinue Aggrenox

    Hello,

I am a caregiver; my father who is 77 had a stroke in May 2014. He was placed on baby aspirin and some other medication, within a month he suffered a second stroke, after which he was placed on Aggrenox Pravastatin, Hydralazine and Metoprolol. He has a history of hypertension/high blood pressure. His cholesterol levels where in normal limits at the time of the stroke. After the second stroke I have noticed some urinary incontinence issues. He has continued to take Pravastatin and Aggrenox from may 2014 until the present.
Now we learned there is some evidence of internal bleeding (from the stool analysis). I think the Aggrenox caused the bleeding. As a family, we decided to stop the Aggrenox.
Question: Has anybody had a similar experience - put on Aggrenox and then the discountinued the treatment? Any feedback would be appareciated, thank you.
