Yeah, taking care injured things is fun. I don't even like to see bugs drown! I've found a few injured birds that can't fly or move much, and what me or my dad do is get gloves, put them in a basket and give them water and such. You may want to call Animal Control though, they'll release them back into the wild. And don't touch them or play with them to much, without gloves or anything. For one, they may have disease--it depends on the bird, and two, if their young, the mother may pick up your scent, and leave it.

If the bird is a wild bird and not a home breed bird then you want to take it to the animal shelter so it can be taken care of properly. You also have to watch out because some birds to carry diseases.

yes i agree.
depending on what u want to do with the bird later on (do u want to keep it as a pet?) u will need to decide from there onwards.
if ur planning to set it free do it as soon as it gets well.
u cannot keep it for months and set it free then as it will not survive.

Re: a helpless bird

Ifound a baby robin once... it's parents had pushed it out of the nest but he couldn't fly yet so some one put it bakc in the nest and they did the same thing and it was like 100 degrees outside and it was dying.. so then I went outside with kitchen gloves on and picked it up and put it in a shoe box, and I had birds swooping and pecking at my head. Anyway we fed it puppy food from an eye dropper untill it could eat regular bird food... and he was fine for like a month then we took him to an animal sanctuary where they kept him and he could fly around but still be safe.
