    Embarassing Question About Breasts...

When breasts are developing.. do the stages happen in an orderly fashion?
For example.. [not saying this is true] but would the stages happen in a pattern, like .. say .. every 6 months.. or can their be gaps?

I've read things that are like

    stage one, 9-11
    stage 2, 11-13

etcetc, I don't know if those ages are true, its just an example.

But could you like.. have "breast buds" at, example, 14, and not get fully developed breasts until 18 or something? Like, does it basically happen all together, or can the stages been fairly far apart.

There are 5 stages of Tanner's sex maturity ratings. You may be between stage 1 & 2.

I don't believe in those stages. Everyone is different. There is no set pattern of development. How you develop and what stages depends mostly on your genes, possibly what you eat, how much you exercise -- so that means no one will experience growth the same way. You're a unique individual. I also wouldn't say breasts stop at age 19. You can still grow larger breasts if you gain weight. And, some womens' breasts get larger after a pregnancy and stay that way. My mom was basically flat until she had kids, then she was more like a B or C cup and they didn't go back down. So yes, you can be full height and developed in other ways, but still have other areas, such as your breasts, yet to grow. One way to tell is by looking at your family members, but that can be deceiving as well, because you might not take after your mom exactly -- you might take after your grandma on your dad's side or an aunt. Either way, don't worry about it. Guys like breasts of all sizes, believe that.

I completely agree with Minnesota girl. Every girl develops differently. Some girls hit puberty earlier than others. For me, I was 12 when I got my period and my breasts began budding about a year before that. Now, my sister, her breasts started budding at about 8, and she started her period at 9 years old. My breasts didn't grow after the age of 15 until after I had children. So, we all develop differently. I think it depends on your genetic makeup, your diet, etc.

I can't really help out on this subject, but if you're afraid that your breasts are a bit on the small side, there's absolutely no reason to be ashamed. A good majority of men don't care about the size of your breasts.

I don't believe in the stages either. Every one is different and your breasts will develop when their ready and your breasts can continue to grow until your 19. One month you may have a little bump and 3 months later be in a C cup. Its different in every one hun.

Research "Tanner stages of Breast development"
It has nothing to do with age.

I don't remember going through any particular stages. My boobs just started growing and it seemed pretty steadily. But then at age 18 they grew from a B to a C and I had actually LOST weight, so it's possible to have a random growth spurt. Besides that, I didn't notice any other particular growth pattern. Everybody develops differently though.. so I guess it varies by girl.
