unknown infection

I am 19 years old and perfectly healthy; However, I have recently developed an unknown infection in my belly button. It is raw and pink, and its developed a crust like scabbing around it. I poured hydrogen peroxide on it to clean it and it foamed more than anything I witnessed before. I haven't the slightest clue of what it is nor do I know what to do about it. Any advice would assist.

Re: unknown infection

If the hydrogen peroxide foams up, that means it's doing its job and cleaning out the infection.

However, you may need antibiotics to fully eliminate the infection. You can get them from your doctor.

Sometimes belly buttons just get infected, for no real reason.
