Exclamation leg help

I am a teen and I'm still experiencing "growing pains" like feelings in knees and ankles. Sometimes it's both legs and other times its only one. Also when life wants to make it horrible, it's the ankles and knees. I also have trouble walking when this occurs, just like if I had a knife threw my knee etc..

Massages seems to help, but sometimes it makes the pain worst. I also put deep cold and it calms it down a bit.

It usually starts mild then it will sting and become very strong.. To make the pain go away, I need to lay down, put a pillow between my legs and stop moving. It becomes very difficult because the pain is unbearable. It also stops my busy schedule.

I am a healthy weight. I stay very active and eat healthy. Junk is a no no. I don't jog but swim frequently which is a low impact activity.

I am asking this also because they seem to be becoming more and more frequent.

I am not growing anymore, I havent been for a good 4 years. If it helps I have had TMJ since I was 10. The doctors told me it affected my growing and joints. Is this possible?

Is it joint related or muscle related? What is the cause of this pain?
