Not sure if I'm hypo or hyper?

Hoping that someone can make sense of this.

I just received my thyroid results

    TSH: 5.12, (0.30-5.60) lab range
    T4 Free: 13.1, (7.2-21.0) lab range
    Free T3: 6.7 , (2.9-6.0) lab range

TSH says hypo but free t3 says hyper. What symptoms do you have?

Cold hands and feet. Low morning temp, fatigue, headaches, 'foggy feeling' I think I'm def hypo but that high t3 made me question it

Have you had a test for TPO antibodies? Sometimes, these antibodies - which attack the thyroid hormone-making process and cause your thyroid to be inefficient - will cause your T4 to drop. To compensate, more T4 will be converted to T3 than normal. That might cause the kind of imbalance you have. As your T4 continues to drop, you'll feel worse and worse even if T3 stays the same.

You're hypothyroid and in need of treatment. Let me guess... Your MD says otherwise?

Yes, my MD told me not to worry at all.

Re: Not sure if I'm hypo or hyper?

Since your TSH is above 2, your free T4 is below lab median, and you have multiple symptoms that can all be related to low thyroid, a more thyroid-knowledgeable MD would probably agree to treat you.
If you can switch doctors, definitely go for it!
