Friend of mine has recently diagnosed Hypothyroidism, treatment started and his thyroid hormone (TSH) level became normal. Does Hypothyroidism cause fatigue even if he has normal Thyroid levels?

Yes it does with my wife. She was so happy to be diagnosed and treated so she could feel like she used to. No such luck but she did feel a little better but still not much energy.

Thanks for your information for my question. Really it will take time to get rid of fatigue.

You are welcome. Everyone is different but in my wife's case, she never got rid of the fatigue and it has been over 10 years. Good luck.

I had my entire thyroid removed (cancer), and feel completely normal on Synthroid. My daughter and son both have Hashimoto's and feel fine on Synthroid. I know our experiences aren't universal, but I just wanted to let you know that it works for some people, at least.

It takes time for the thyroid hormone levels to rise. TSH is a pituitary hormone, not a thyroid one. It has no bearing on symptoms... Only the T4/T3 levels do. It can take up to 6 months, sometimes longer, for T4/T3 levels to rise to the levels that are naturally optimal for you as an individual.

It took a full year for my symptoms to resolve. If your friend just started treatment, it's too soon to expect complete relief.
