Angry Hyper and hypo symptoms at the same time.

    I have hypo AND hyper.

Since taking medication I've had both hypo and hyper symptoms simultaneously. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have symptoms of hypo including :

    weight gain
    depression
    swollen tongue
    puffy eyelids
lethargy (I feel like a lazy fat a*ss)
    slow speech
    anti social

I also have hyper symptoms including:

    facial blushing
    nervousness
    extreme rage/mood swings
    panic
    social anxiety
    heart palpitations
    tremors

    Is anyone else experiencing this?

    Hi,
Thought I'd respond to your post. I also have had hypo and hyper symptoms at the same time as well. More hypo than hyper but still. Even had an Endo tell me that I couldn't possibly have a Thyroid issue because "you can't have both". Total Idiot!!!!!! I have also talked to an aquaintance who said she was borderline Graves before she went into Hashi's. If I've learned nothing else on this board it is that individual presentation is key!! Don't give up! I certainly haven't aand I'm still not diagnosed. Good Luck!!!!

Hi. I've had crossover symptoms too. And I believe I went slightly hyper before going hypo. I am diagnosed as hypo. I believe it's hashi's but haven't got that dx due to the doctor's belief in the almighty TSH. But, thankfully, the TSH alone was enough to diagnose me as hypo.
Sammy33, do you have a diagnosis or are you suspecting hypo or hyper? If you have been tested, you may (if you choose to) post your results as well as the lab ranges. There are a lot of knowledgable people here who can interpret them and maybe help you to gain some more insight on this.

2 years ago after the birth of my
daughter I got hyper. Now for the past 6 months
I have hypo. The med I am on is making me feel a bit
better now. Looks like after 2 years my thyroid problems are here to stay.

    Hi Sammy,
I have hx of hyper/graves & was on tapazole for a year and other meds for other conditions. Have been having problems come up again that seem a little of both. I have appointment tom. w/pcp to go to eye doc for this eye spasm that happened the other day. I hope they do something about the thyroid or whatever is causeing this bodily upset. Take Care, Gemi

Sammy33, You are not alone...I have more symptoms of
hypo, but my blood work is showing hyper.
    Hypo Symptoms:
    weight gain
    low body temperature
    depression
lethargy (forcing myself to exercise, but can only do
about 1/2 of what I used to do)
    anti social

    hyper:
    fast pulse

I did have the heat intolerance, but that has subsided. My T4 is at 15.2 (had been 23 on 4.5 to 12.5 normal range). Feeling lot better than I was, but my pulse still little high...I have recently had heavy frequent menstruation, but was skipping previously (skipping is hyper, heavy/frequent is hypo).

    Hi~
I have been having Hypo and Hyper symptoms, too. I've been taking synthroid for over 2 months(had my thyroid removed in july). I had my labs checked a couple weeks ago and they were within "normal" range, but I definatly don't feel "normal".

    Hypo symptoms:
    feel cold all the time
    fatigue
    low body temp (97.2)

    Hyper symptoms:
very rapid heart beat(110-140 when standing)
    some weight loss without dieting
    anxiety

I also have been losing LOTS of hair.

    Hi all,
I am new to the board and just wanted to post a reply to this. I to am having Hypo and Hyper symptons at the same time. Mostly during the day it seems to be hypo and at night it's hyper with the no sleeping and the night sweats.
My Dr had me on PTU 50 mg twice a day and then increased it to 100 mgs twice a day and suddenly I went hyper.
I'm having the uptake test on Wednesday..does anyone know if this is a danger for me to be around family members after?
Any advice would be appreciated..I don't know what to look forward to.
    Thanks,
    Anniegirl58
