am I to young?

Am I to young to be hypothryoid. I am 24? My cousin was 27 when she found out. She said truth be known she probably had symptoms for way longer just didn't know it. Thanks for any info!

Re: am I to young?

I'm 19 and was diagnosed hypo a month ago.. I've had symptoms for a year or two though, just didn't realize that they all fit together!

Re: am I to young?

thanks that makes me feel better. My husband is in the marine corps and at our last duty station the doctor told me I was to young to have a thyroid disorder. He didn't listen to me that my mom, grandma, both aunts, and cousin all have it. They are all on the same side of the family also. I am going to my moms doctor next week to get a blood test because now that we have moved I don't want to have to go through all the BS just to get it checked.

Re: am I to young?

My daughter was eight when she was diagnosed hypo and I believe she had been for several years prior to being diagnosed. It's good that you are going to go to a different doc.
Good Luck!
