Dr. Blanchard

Hi everyone!

I just finished reading Dr. Kenneth Blanchard's book entitled "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Hypothyroidism." I am curious if any of you have tried his physiologic 98% T4, 2% T3 therapy, and if so, how it went. It sounds as if he has had a lot of success with it. Any input?

Also, he suggests having your T3 compounded in time-release capsules. Is this difficult to have done in the US and is it significantly more expensive than standard Armour?

Thanks.

Re: Dr. Blanchard

I can only asnwer question 2 - srT3 is much more expensive than getting it from your Armour - I've used this and the cost was about 3x as much as natural desiccated is. It's not difficult, it's just a matter of finding a compounding pharmacy.

Re: Dr. Blanchard

Thanks Gopherhead. Anyone else know about Dr. Blanchard's ideas? I would really appreciate any anecdotal experience.

Re: Dr. Blanchard

I take 75mgs of Armour. I found out that taking a 60mg pill in the morning (around 6am) and a 15mg in the afternoon (between 3-5pm) works best for me. (It might be a less expensive way than time released capsules).
