Question Question - Change in Cytomel Manufacturer?

I've been getting the 5mcg tablets of Cytomel for a while now, and noticed a change in the pills' appearance with my last refill. The pills now read "KPI 115" instead of "JMI D14". I asked the pharmacist -- to make sure I got the right medication -- and she said the manufacturer was purchased by another pharmaceutical. For anyone here who has been on Cytomel for many years, has this happened previously and if so, does the formulation of the medication change at all when the manufacturer changes? Just want to make sure I'm getting the same stuff. Many thanks for your help. Can't reach my endo for comment until later in the month.

Re: Question - Change in Cytomel Manufacturer?

The information I could gather by googling is that Cytomel is manufactured by Schering Canada, Inc., and it was distributed by Jones Pharma Inc. - which has been a wholly owned subsidiary of King Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Jones and King recently merged into one company and no longer have a parent/subsidiary relationship.
So... the manufacturer hasn't changed, as far as I can tell. That would mean no change in the med itself.
Contacting the company would get you the definitive answer.
