Diet suggestions to lose weight? PLEASE

Hi all,

Just started on levothyroxine, at 50mcg per day to be increased next week to 100 mcg per day.
Am beginning to feel a bit better, now i really want to tackle this excess weight! Anyone suggest best diet to follow? Should it be low carb? No carb? (ie Atkins?...although tried this before and made emergy levels even worse!)..
In UK there is Slimming World which is where you do red and green, carbs one day, mainly protein on red days....any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi Tracey,

I had a TT last October 2005. I have tried to lose weight but was having a tough time. I was told by my doctor that I won't start losing weight until I get my meds regulated. I am finally starting to feel like normal again. I was so down on my weight that two weeks ago I joined Weight Watchers here in the US. I have lost 7 pounds in the 2 week time. I also have been trying to exercise at least 30 minutes a day. On good days I can do an hour workout. I wish you the best of luck on whatever you decide to do.

Hi Tracey...i am hypothyroid along with you...i am taking maintain/loose weight i have little meals most of the time...what has helped me the most is putting my dinner on a lunch plate so my portions are smaller...i have to be careful and not have big dinners all the time as they make me gain/not loose weight...i have about 3 or 4 dinners in 2 weeks..the other nights i have a sandwich with some applesauce or some scrambled eggs with an english muffin or sometimes some cereal...loosing weight is very slow for me but it seems to stay off this way...i also walk,weather permitting 4~5 nights a week for 1/2~3/4 hour...hope this helps you...
