If my ultrasound was "Unremarkable" - does that mean no goiter?

Doc felt my neck & said my thyroid felt slightly enlarged. (I'm def. hypo, so that we know).

Doc ordered an ultrasound - I called for results. The assistant grabbed my file & said "Unremarkable".

For any additional info, I have to wait for the doc to call me back, which could be many hours. And I'm impatient

Do they usually just use the ultrasound to look for nodules, or do they also use it to locate/measure goiter?

Thanks so much for your help!

IMO - means it has nothing unusual about it, like everything is normal. Have them mail you a copy of the US report or pick one up. The report will usually tell the size of your thyroid measurments and anything else that they can tell, i.e. the right lobe measures Xcm by Xcm and the left lobe Xcm by Xcm.

I know they can find nodules with US but not sure about goiter.
