Thumbs up Back from surgery

Hi everyone

Had TT done on Monday. They didn't have to go in chest yea!!!! . Was released on Tues. feel pretty good I can breathe and I have a neck now. Voice was pretty bad on monday evening Sounds normal now but can't yell(my daughter says she hopes it stays this way. Got a lotta pain still taking 2 vicadin every 6 hours throat feels like its on fire!!! Calcium levels were fine except for wed. drank about a gallon of milk helped a lot. Doc didn't send me home on any meds have to go see Endo on the 8th. So my question is it absolutely necessary to wait 10 days to get levels checked? And also is there anything I can put on incision Besides bacitrin for this insane itching, I know its a part of healing but throat is still pretty tender. Everyone is so surprised at how my neck looks including myself. HUSBAND IS TAKING REALLY good care of me. I usually stay at my mom's during the day while he's at work. (Yes I embrace my innerchild and really like being taken care of ) Well getting a little tired. I'm going to sign off now,but please anyone with any suggestions on this insane itching help.

Re: Back from surgery

One of my lobes was removed last fall due to enlargement. I sucked on A LOT of ice chips to help the throat. Also I used cold packs for the insision area itching. You could try some over the counter Hydrocortizon on your throat, just not the actual inscision area. Or just a cool cloth,,,

Only 10 days after surgery, I doubt your labs would show low thyroid levels (mine didn't & my primecare Dr was a ditz, so I didn't get on meds for 3.5 months, after *I* asked the right question) unless they were low prior to surgery. But, if you had a lobe removed any Endo would know to give you something & probably do labs in 5-6 weeks. Since they set you up with an Endo so soon after surgery, that's a notch above what many of us have gone through.

Glad you're doing good Let us know what Endo says
