one problem with eye

Can you just have a problem with one eye with thyroid. having issues trying to get diagnosed with it, but just wondering if anyone has this,

My right eye feels swollen, and tight, (does not itch so not an allergy).
Eye area also feels heavy and is affecting eyesight as its very blurred and dark. Feels awful and makes me feel very sick and depressed. I also have tininitus in the right ear also.

I'm getting to the stage now with trying to feel better that the only way I'm going to feel better is if I'm not here anymore. Bad bad day sorry.

Re: one problem with eye

Hi, I am so sorry for it can be frustrating. Yes, it is possible to have eye problems with thyroid disease. I blame it on the fluid build up from being hypo. You can also have eye problems with hyperthyroidism.

For 2 days my left eye had pain behind it and the sinus around it. The vision was quite blurry and driving me crazy.LOL. Today it is doing better.

I think us thyroid patients are more prone to allergies also, and catch colds so much easier.

Hoping that your eye gets better, and take care of yourself.

Re: one problem with eye

I hope so Lady50 as I have been like this for nearly 4 years now.
If I am lucky enough to get a gp to understand that it could be thryoid, does the eye ever get better once meds are started.
Here in the Uk its a hard task trying to find a good Dr who listens to every symptom you that have.
I have been told its the menopause!!!
