TSH Levels

Hello all, this is my first post, and Im new to the diagnosis of hypothyroidism. 6 months ago I had my tsh lvls checked and I was at 3.2, I just had it rechecked yesterday, and my Dr called me back and said my tsh is at 166 . Is this possible?? He said he has never seen a lvl that high, and started me on 125 mcg synthroid. I am suppose to go back in 6 weeks for a recheck. I was wondering how feesible the tsh of 166 is. The Dr said my thyroid is failing at this point. What prompted me to go to the Dr is chronic fatigue.

Any advice is welcome.
Thank you

Re: TSH Levels

a Tsh of 166 is very feasible i am afraid, mine was unmeasurably high when i was diagnosed and my T4 levels were unmeasurably low.

The 6 week recheck is usual and you will be checked quite often until your TSH is within the normal limits and then its an annual checkup.

keep a record of you blood test results, make sure you get the lab ranges too.
best wishes
