Re: Prescribed Synthroid/cytomel - Question On Dosage Split - Mg Or Anyone

Hi Liz,
I also get a little hyper after taking my pill, feels like too much coffee.
I will give it time and see if I get used to it.

Hi,

Did they adjust your dose again? - decrease the T4? Yes, even if I take half of the half pill which is about 6.25. That is really high than the lowest dose of Cytomel which is 5 mcg anyway. I think I need about 3 or something and if feel a slump take another in P. M. I think the slow-release would be better once we could figure out how much. But what I have is too much. Today I decided not to take it and cut some of the half pill to make about 3-4 and going to try that tomorrow. I am still hyper and didn't take any - but hopefully it gets to half life and such and then I will take less. No use to call endo as I don't want to quit this and don't have anything to tell him yet. I told you I called the compounding pharmacies, didn't I, and asked them a bunch of questions - they can put any amount in and said you should get enough for 2 weeks and see how it works. So, I am doing my research. I feel almost normal except the nerves and heart rate is faster at times - but that is still better than feeling so sick and lying in bed. You are right - we will get it right sometime - hopefully soon.

Seems like you are feeling better? I guess what we have now at least we can function some.

Liz

yes she did, she dropped the T4 down but I think I get that jittery feeling from T3.
Not great but a little better I guess we have to try to find whats right.

Pia,

Yes, the T3 causes the jittery feeling for sure. I went from feeling next to dead to feeling like I am really wired. But compared to the other - this is better, but I know I can't live totally like this either. I don't care if I have to take the Cytomel every other day - whatever it takes to feel human........I know you agree. Also, I have that time-released in mind and researching that.

Hope we are on our way to better days, my friend,
Liz

Liz,

I think you need a prescription for time released I am not sure your endo will give you that.
They usaly are not very open to that kind of meds.
I think you probably have to go to the lady doctor but maybe I am wrong, you can ask him and see what he says.
Do you get that flattering feeling in the chest when you take the Cytomel ? feels a little tide.

take care
Pia

looks like we have to start a new thread pretty soon, LOL

Re: Prescribed Synthroid/cytomel - Question On Dosage Split - Mg Or Anyone

Hi,

I hope I don't have to go to a new doctor in case I need that time-released, but will see. Today I took a small dose - half of half or some such thing. I don't feel too bad - a little nervous, but I can deal with that right now. I need to try things in the next two weeks so I know what to say to him when I send a note prior to blood work or no blood work. If I have not been on a steady dose of Cytomel I don't know if blood work will make a difference. The Synthroid has not changed at all. We will see. All I know is that I need to find some way to take this stuff........cause I feel almost normal. My heart just feels a teeny bit faster today - but can be nerves too because I want this to work so much. I went to the Mall and met a friend for lunch and even looked around a store - that is progress, I would say. I need this!!!!!!

How are you feeling now - what about that new adrenal medicine - can you feel anything from that? Yes, we probably need a new thread - before they kick us out again What shall we call it? Let me know if you do it so I know what to look for.

Later,
Liz
