17yo male, TSH=23.7, Is this bad?

Hello, I am a 17 year old male currently in high school.
For the past about two years, I've been having problems with the cold and also some joint pains. While everyone else in the classroom is sitting there wearing just a T-shirt and shorts, I would be wearing a long sleeve, long pants with a jacket and still be cold. I heard from my mother that she and her father (my grandfather) has hypothyroidism. So, I recently had a blood test done at a (very small) nearby hospital. The results are:
    TSH: 23.7
    T4: 7.0
    T3: 147

    Should I be worried?
I haven't gone back to the doctors after getting my results, since he told me that he has no clue how to treat thyroid problems.
Could some experts please advise me on what I should do?
    Thank you in advance.

You are hypothyroid and need to be put on thyroid pills. It will replace what your body is not making and you will start to feel better.Once you are on your proper dose you will be doing good.Thyroid does run in families...its in mine.My mother had her thyroid taken out when she was 19.Our thyroid does alot of stuff for our bodies and that is why you are having all the symptoms of being cold. Please let us know what happens.
