Re: Pain standing & walking (from PTW)

Hi PTW. I moved your post so others could respond. I find that when my TSH is too high (and, therefore, I'm hypothyroid), I have a lot of pain in my legs, hands and arms. It's difficult to stand, work on a computer, climb stairs, etc. Almost feels like I'm willing my body to move, but it's not responding.

Perhaps you need more medication than 0.50 mg of synthroid. Can you present your symptoms to your doctor and ask for blood tests that include Free T3 and Free T4, so they can get a more complete picture of an appropriate treatment?

(Oops...I see you posted this topic already, under the heading "thyroid.")<p>[This message has been edited by ArtfulD (edited 11-13-2001).]

Thanks for your response even though I didn't know how to post when I first started. I guess the questions I have are so strange. Let me out it this way........if I took 50 mg. of synthroid for 5 years and didnt have a true thyroid problem what would my symtoms be. My doctor did not hesitate to give me the med. and it has never been changed in all this time. My test always comes our "perfect"as he says.

Re: Pain standing & walking (from PTW)

I wonder why you think you didn't and maybe don't need the thyroid med.

Do you know why the doc gave it to you in the first place? Was it based on a lab test? Do you know the lab results to post here?
Forgive me but I forgot if you told us this.
