Calcemia possibly due to a large fibroid tumor
My journey started wednesday, April 20th when I went in for my well women exam. I had a few 'small' issues that I figured were just perimenopausal stuff (I'm 49). She had me go get some blood work. By Monday my swelling had gotten much worse, so went back in, doctor noticed that my blood calcium level was high (11.4), so ordered another test. Tuesday he called & told me to go to the hospital immediately to get an iv infusion as my calcium level had jumped to 13.3.
Since then I've had three ultra sounds, two x-rays, two CT scans, 30 vials of blood drawn, seen a gynecologist oncologist and an endocrinologist. My pap came back abnormal, they discovered I had gall stones with sludge, and a 10 cm fibroid tumor. I had a total hysterectomy on May 19th. The swelling is still very noticeable. I won't know until next week where my blood calcium level is.
Edema - all over but especially hands, feet & joints - which is causing severe carpal tunnel
MCV - high
PTH - low
Blood calcium 13.3 (high)
Does anyone have any ideas of what might ne going on with me? I have been healthy up to this point. I eat fairly healthy, have always maintained a healthy weight, low blood pressure, etc...
