Does TSH increase with age?

I'm looking over some old bloodwork as I'm investigating my thyroid stuff. In the years before I started feeling bad, my tsh was 1.75-2.0. Unfortunately, I never had the free T's tested then. Over the last ten years (I'm 36 now), it's been creeping up. Two years ago, it was 2.89 and it's now at 3.29. Does TSH increase over time due to age alone or is it always an indicator of an increasing underlying problem?

It can rise a bit with age but you're not "at that age". I'm sure something's happening.
