My husband is going to be isolated for three days while he receives radiation for his thyroid. Can anyone tell me what the experience was like for you,and what he could bring in with him to help pass the time?I would greatly appreciate some advice!Thank you!

Re: radiation therapy

I isolated myself, but didn't have to be isolated---so I was at my mom's house and just used a laptop and watched a ton of tv. There are some blogs where people have described their experiences I'm sure you can find out there.

I would say---a laptop---find out if the hospital has wifi, or rent a hot spot thing or take along some movies-dvd's and a dvd player.

He should take wipes because he will want to wipe down his radioactive residue from the keyboard and such.
