Pregnancy Induced Hyperthyroid

Hi I'm new to this site and stumbled upon this as I was doing some research.
I'm 10 weeks pregnant and had blood work done at my OBGYN. Results indicated that I tested positive for an overactive thyroid (TSH .03 and my FT4=3.2). Prior to getting pregnant, my thyroid levels were normal. My OB referred me to a endocrinologist. Note: I have no symptons of hyperthyroidism. Upon my visit to the endocrinologist, he checked for a goiter, follwed my swallowing patterns and he agreed that I showed no symptons. I had my blood work retested yesterday for more of an indepth reading (i.e., Graves, etc..). Has this happend to anyone? Was the baby born healthy, were you put on any medications? Thanks!

Re: Pregnancy Induced Hyperthyroid

Greetings Alpo612  Welcome to General Healthboards! I am sorry these things are happening. A second opinion might be of some use if desired. However personally I think if there truly are symptoms of hyperthyroidism and the thyroid level is up I would use foods known to block the thyroid to some extent such as cooked soybeans, cabbage, carrots, rutabega, turnips, peanuts etc. and retest later to be sure it went down. Peace, sjb
