Lab results, need advice on results

Hello, I would appreciate input on my labs. I have been on Armour 90mcg for 2 months at the time of this lab test. I still feel depressed, anxious and my hair is falling out worse than ever!

    my labs are

    T3 119 (range 71-180)
    T4 Free .83 (range .82-1.77)
    TSH .067 (range .450-4.500)

Your T4 is too low. You might need to add in a synthetic T4 to bring it up. I can't take Armour alone, my T3 gets too high and my T4 stays too low. Some people can take only Armour, some have to add in the T4. I used to take Unithroid and Nature Throid (same as Armour, different fillers) but now I take Unithroid and a compounded T3.

Thanks, my doctor will not treat with both synthroid and armour, he did agree to increase the Armour since there is room to move up on the t3.

Well at least they are willing to do that, however, watch your levels carefully, if your T3 gets too high and your T4 still isn't high enough, it can cause you to feel very bad. I know, it happened to me. It caused me to have horrible heart skipping and panic attacks.

I don't understand why they aren't willing to add a synthetic T4 to the Armour if it will balance you out better. Natural is better, but sometimes the synthetic needs to be added to achieve the right levels for you. It doesn't have to be Synthroid, there are other synthetics. In fact I don't recommend synthroid, I'd go with one of the others like Unithroid.

The dessicated thyroid like Armour and Nature Throid are from desiccated pig thyroid. They use that because it is closest to the human thyroid but the T3 is naturally a bit higher than in humans and the T4 is naturally a bit lower, hence the reason that a lot of us need the added T4 to get to the optimal T4 level without our T3 being too high.

I hope the higher dosage level works for you without causing you problems.
