Question about labs + synthroid dose change

    Hi,

    My latest labs are: free t4 - 1.00 (normal 0.82 -1.77)
    TSH - 0.672 (normal 0.450 - 4.500)
    free t3 - 3.1 (normal 2.0 - 4.4)

I've been low energy and have very dry hair. Was taking in a.m. -Armour 30 mg and Synthroid 25 mcg with Armour 45 mg at p.m.

My dr. yesterday increased the Synthroid to 50 mg. and left Armour doses the same at 30 mg in a.m. and Armour 45 mg at 1 p.m.

Do you think the increase in Synthroid is a good idea considering my labs? Should the Armour be decreased in dose if the Synthroid is increased?

Appreciate the help! My other labs are all normal including ferritin and iron levels.

The dose change you got sounds reasonable, there definately is room to improve your FT4. Your FT3 looks to be on the lower side of the range so I think leaving your Armour dose alone is good idea. You could rather need a small increase to that dose too, but let's see what this increase does first.
