    Maybe this IS TMJ?

Hello! So, longtime pain feeler, first time poster.

I've had neck and throat pain for years, and my teeth have always been a pain.

My temples are always sore to the touch and I often wake up with severe neck pain - I often describe it as two rods jabbing me on either side of my neck. I also have insanely sensitive ears and have headaches a ton. My throat hurts often but I'm never sick.

Recently ear ringing has started, too. I recently had two root canal retreatments and a temporary crown put on. The bite was off, and even after adjustments, something has changed. No broken teeth, nothing weird in the dental sense.

My jaw is tired and all my teeth feel sensitive. I have a small amount of jaw popping or clicking, and I definitely can't really open my mouth super wide. I think I'm probably grinding at night, too.

My dentist just referred me to a head and neck/TMJ specialist. Does this sound like it could be TMJ? At this point I'd almost be relieved, as I need some answers to all this weird chronic pain.

    Thanks for reading!

The tired jaw, jaw clicking, off-bite, grinding and non-wide mouth opening sound like TMJ per the literature I've read and what I have, but the rest sound like more than that is going on. Mine is due to arthritis in my jaw, however, so there may be symptoms I don't have for that reason. Good luck!
