Unhappy HELP! Pain and swelling in gums and jaw + burning

    Dear people,
I try to keep it short (could write a book though). Since September 2016 I have pain. It started with 1 tooth. They thought the tooth was cracked and placed a crown. Problems got worse and spread to other teeth. Tooth got extracted. Upper tooth started being painful, got extracted as well :'( No extraction made a difference. Pains and problems got worse. Now bone in the gums (above the teeth) are swollen. It is no infection cause it is really hard like bone. Also the gums around the teeth are burning like crazy. I still rinse my mouth several times a day with salt and baking soda in water. I feel this helps a little. I have seen all specialists in New Zealand. Lost 2 good molars, got night guards, I was a few nights on a device to check for grinding etc., got all kind of medicines... None can help me and I drive slowely crazy. Oh, my ears also got blocked in the process. No maneuvre or what so ever can open them. This means I also can't take an airplane to seek help abroad. Due to extraction up and down also my teeth all shift

Please, please.. anyone... What is going on with me and what can help me.

Thank you so much in advance guys for any response!

I have read that TMD can cause phantom tooth pain and it can refer pain to other parts of your body (I have it in my neck and shoulders) like your teeth. I just had a crown put on last Thursday and had a couple of good days but today has been pretty bad.

My ears were blocked from New Year's Day until mid-April when they finally started to improve and finally around June/July they were much better. They would open randomly but it never lasted long. They still clog, pop, crackling and bother me but it's nothing like it was a few months ago. My ear issues are being caused partially by TMD and partially by allergies. I am wearing a bite splint and getting allergy shots.

Do you have pain in your cheeks? or right in front of your ears? The masseter muscle in your cheek can get tight and pull causing irritation that causes inflammation and your eustachian tubes suffer.

Do you have negative pressure in your ears? This is usually measured by an audiologist. I had negative pressure in my right ear in Jan/Feb and was told not to fly because it could rupture my ear drum He said as long as the pressure was normal I could fly with blocked ears but I haven't been brave enough to try it. I know someone who just flew from Hawaii to California with eustachian tube issues (she was going to see a specialist) and she didn't have any problems.

Do your ears open at all? Some things that helped mine.... sinus wash (or neti pot), ibuprofen for inflammation, heating pad on the ear (and cheek if masseter is acting up) and a tens unit.

Maybe ask your doctor about seeing a physiotherapist that specializes in TMD. My therapist does intraoral massage, dry needling and works on my jaw. I also do exercises with my tongue.
