Does anyone else have body pain?

If so, what do you use to help alleviate it?

Since the onset of my tmd and cervical problems I have been dealing with chronic overall body pain - the kind where your muscles and bones just feel so sore to the touch and throb - it makes doing anything very difficult - even just sitting or lying down - and it prevents me from getting a good nights sleep as well - even if I take other meds precribed for the tmj and facial spasms. Although it has gotten better over the past few months with treatment by a cranial chiro that uses applied kinesiology techniques I am getting episodes every few weeks where I become bed ridden for 3-4 days and then as suddenly as it started it disappears - and I am left not knowing what brought it on and why it eased up on its own.

Has anyone tried or is using lyrica? If so - do you have any thought about it? I have seen ads on tv but to be honest the warning concerning its use make me very hesitant about trying it - I tend to be that person in the less than 1% category where if there's a slight chance of complications or adverse reactions - it will be with me.

I have tried aleve, advil, and Ibuprofen and really see no difference in my pain when taking them even if if I up the dose - and celebrex and bextra had no affect either. I am pretty sure I need an anti-inflammatory since I feel swollen when this occurs as well. I have tried soaking in a hot tub and using heat wraps - it helps for a bit and then the stiffness and pain returns - but like I said after a few days it seems to abate on its own and I am left bewildered - but grateful none-the less.

Anyone else having this problem and if so what helps?

Well, actually my chiropractor suggested ice instead of heat to reduce inflammation, so I've been doin that and really helps.

Do your episodes happen after a cervical adjustment? I don't know if this applies but on the NUCCA websites, they're very specific about the symptoms after an adjustment and that seems to be one of them but I'm not sure if it should be that severe. Maybe you should notify your chiro and doctor. I'm very sketchy about using meds for body pains because more than likely, if relaxants don't work, it might be the bone or a nerve, and especially if you're in that 1% who's prone to getting adverse reactions.

I'm starting to get body pain as well. Whenever I lie on my side or bend down or get in the car for a 10 minute drive and get up, my lower back starts to hurt. I get bouts of fatigue and unclarity and I'm getting no sleep these days as well. I need to call and question some NUCCAs but the fatigue!!

Re: Does anyone else have body pain?

TL- My body pain is all over now too, mainly tight muscles all on one side from neck down the the front of the thigh. Also low back and sacrum pain.

I take 5 mg valium and ultran when needed. I thought of going on neurontin, but decided against it, but who knows about the furture.

That is weird how your pain comes and goes, mine is pretty constant, the tight muscles and that.

My friend with fibro started Lycria and she said it helps but it made her feet swell and she put on weight.

Maybe read about it on the fibro board.

Does this have any correspondence with your chiro visits?

3 years ago I had an earache, now I have pain all over, and I've never been a pain person.
