Pipdog - Questions

Pipdog - was going through your posts, you went through quite a lot, but you provide some light at the end of the tunnel.

One thing I couldn't seem to figure out was when you got out of pain. I saw you got out of pain once but it came back. Currently was it Dr. Stack's appliances or did it require the surgery? You mentioned you got to 55mm with the surgery. What were you before?

I'm 2 months into a NM splint and not getting much relief. Still have lots of muscle pain and tingling over it. Like you, I was told its Trigeminal neuralgia not TMJ, but it seems like for many the TMJ is causing the neuraglia. Doctor wants to try some meds, but not sure I want to go down that road.

I've gone from 35mm to 50mm opening so the joint seems to be working, but the pain hasn't subsided.

So the question is what does it take to calm the trigeminal nerve and its associated muscles down. Is it just time in the splint or is the surgery required?

Cheers (family is originally from Galway, but i'm in CA)
