I have very irregular periods. I am ttc and if I don't have regular periods I don't know if I'm ovulating. I've actually went w/o a period in about 3 years. I've had like 5. Anyways, another member on these boards said they used vitex. I am wondering if anyone has taken this and succeeded in pregnancy or regulating periods? Thanks. If you have taken this please let me know everything. Even if its bad. I want to know as much as possible before I use it! Thanks -Kelly

Re: Vitex?

Vitex is a miracle for me. Though you really should take atleast 2000mg of it.
I went from not ovulaing to ovulating on cd 29, then cd 26, then 22, then 19, then cd 22 again, and last cycle ovulating on cd 14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know what id do without it!

Re: Vitex?

I have been using vitex (tincture form, which is supposed to be best) and I think it works for me. Here's my experience with it: In July I had about 6 days of spotting before AF. Not sure what caused it, but decided to try vitex in case it was a low progesterone problem. In August, I Oed 3 days earlier and only had 2.5 days of spotting. Then, for reasons beyond my control, I had an almost 2 week break from Vitex. Sure enough, I Oed later and that pesky spotting was back for 5 days this time. I have been taking it very regularly for 3 weeks now. Currently I am waiting for O. If it comes early then I will give the credit to Vitex. One more word, you may want to try drinking red reaspberry leaf tea. That's supposed to strengthen the uterus, but I wouldn't be able to tell you if that's been working! LOL.

Re: Vitex?

I used Vitex for 2 months. Initially I had read that it takes up to 3 months for it to be most effective. For me, it took only 2 months, and I am now pregnant, after been trying for 8 months. I truly believe it was the Vitex that did it for me. I actually ovulated nearly a week earlier than normal this last month, and like I said I got pregnant. I would totally recommend trying it. Good Luck!! and baby dust to you.... If you can, also try taking your temps, I found it very helpful and quite interesting how that works, you can really see when and if your ovulating.
