Lightbulb Well........

here I am again....with another question I hope you guys aren't getting sick of me...

I am charting online and at home on paper. Well my online chart tells me I ovulated on Day 15, problem is, we BD on cycle day 13 and 14

My temp shot up to 97.91 yesterday morning, but this morning it was 97.87. My friend is telling me any decline before your period after you ovulate is still considered a decline and I'm probalby not pregnant! The thing is, I got up about 4 times in the middle of the night last night and I'm wondering if maybe it affected my temp. Do you think there is still a chance i will be preg?

My A/F is due the 29th.

Re: Well........

I'm sorry, but your friend is wrong. Your temps can still flucuate post-O even if you are pregnant. You should not pay attention to individual temps so much, rather just make sure your chart is biphasic. If your temps stay raised for 18 days, then you are probably pregnant. BTW, I think your BD dates are fine.

Re: Well........

Yes, I think you could still be pregnant. I don't think a .04 degree drop is significant enough to worry yet. Especially since most thermometer's readings will naturally vary a little bit even if you are at exactly the same temperature (anywhere from .02 to .2 degrees, depends on how accurate your thermometer is). Now if your temp dropped to 97.5, that might be a signal that you're not, but it all depends on the trend (several days of readings). It might be helpful to know at what Cd you are at now too, how many dpo, etc. Temp. spikes that occur due to pregnancy (triphasic cycles) usually occur after the fertilized egg has implanted, which is anywhere from 5-10 dpo (average is 6 days from what I've read).
I would wait and see what your temp is the next couple days to see the trend.
By the way, if you ovulated Cd 15 and BD'ed on Cd 13 and 14, that's good! Of course it would have been great to have BD'ed on Cd 15, but at least you got 13 and 14. The sperm can live 2-5 days inside you.
Good luck. Lots of baby dust!!

wow you ladies just gave me hope....thanks for that....I know it isn't for sure that I'm pregnant or not pregnant but you made me feel better.

By the way I'm on cycle day #18 and the chart tells me I ovulated on cycle day 15. So I'm now 3 days past ovulation right...?? Maybe the sperm is still swimming looking for the egg LOL

Re: Well........

A similar thing happened to me. My temperature went from 98.0 to 97.6 this morning...It is still above the coverline. I am 11 DPO. I normally have a luteal phase of 14-16 days. {removed}

weepyone, thank you....

this morning I took my temp and it is 97.93 which is still above my coverline and still high, I'm expecting it to go down tomorrow or Sunday at the latest...if it doesn't I'll be holding out hope that I am indeed preg.

Baby Dust to you all
