How long have you been TTC

Hi ladies. I am curious as to how long each of you have been trying to concieve. I have been trying for 3 cycles this time. I tried for 10 months before I got my pregnant with my son who is now 8. I didn't do anything other than go off bc. I didnt use OPK or charting when I was ttc the first time so I am hoping with knowing more about my cycles and my body this time will not take as long.
TIA

Re: How long have you been TTC

Tried one month after BC pills (two months off) got preg., had miscarriage about three months later, so this would be my 2nd month trying (3 months since miscarriage).
Basically I have been in this for 6 months, but only three of those would be actual trying months. But I am hoping for another preg. this cycle.

We've been trying to about 7 months but that would be more like 9 cycles as I've had a few recent very short cycles.. UGH! Am hoping this is it, all signs point to pg! Yes, that is wishful thinking.. I can't help it!

Have you seen your doc about this? After a year generally they will investigate further and could prescribe things for stuff as simple as not enough progesterone.

Re: How long have you been TTC

This is our 5th cycle trying with #2 I've started charting three cycles ago and am just now starting to get the hang of it... we tried once with dd and I got pregnant once before on the first try, which ended in a m/c
I always considered fertile, but who knows, maybe age does play a role? I'm 38. I also got hypothyroidism after dd but am on meds now for it and my levels are normal. Somehow though, I can't shake the feeling that it's because of that, I'm having a hard time conceiving.

Who knows for sure? We'll just keep trying.

Befer

Re: How long have you been TTC

We tried for 12 years with #1, then got pg with #2 years later. Our 3rd daughter was conceived the one time we forgot to use something when daughter #2 was 6 months old.

I know that some people say to go see a specialist if you don't get pg in a year, but that's not always what you should do. SOmetimes stress plays a big factor in getting pg. If you let go of the stress sometimes it just happens. It also depends on age, medical problems, etc...

In your case, I would say sit back and enjoy the ride ha ha ha If there is no medical reason for it it should happen, you need to give it time. I;ve been in your shoes and it's NO fun at all, but if you stop stressing about it it may be easier.

Sending positive vibes your way

Re: How long have you been TTC

Thank you all for responding to my question. COnception seems to be one of the trickiest things in life. You have to get the right "combination" of factors for it to happen.
