Exclamation TTC w/ PCOS

Is there anyone out there who has previously been TTC, and has used clomid to help? I have a lot of question and need someone who has PCOS to help me or anyone with any advice. I did a proveria withdrawl and started my period. I have now had AF for 10 days. I also have taken Clomid. I started doing the ovulation kit 4 days, but it still says negative. Is this because I'm still haveing AF and have not ovulated yet? Will I ovualate after AF is done or while AF is still around????? I'm so confused. Can anyone help me? Please message me back REMOVED. Thanks:(

Re: TTC w/ PCOS

I don't know a lot about clomid, but I'll offer the little info I do know- there are several different options for when you can take clomid, the most common being cycle days 3-7. You should have an LH surge beginning on the 3-5th clomid pill (cycle day 6-8) and I think there are OTC detector kits for this. You are expected to ovulate about 5-10 days after you take the last clomid pill (cycle days 12-17 give or take). *Of course these numbers will be skewed a bit if you started taking clomid on a day other than cycle day 3, so keep that in mind.* If everything works out right, your AF should be finishing any day now, and you should ovulate thereafter. 10 days is kind of a long time for a period, but maybe your body is still adjusting or something. Hope this helps, good luck!

Re: TTC w/ PCOS

Thank you soooo much for the information!!! I really needed that. I was beggining to think I was nuts! So hopefully here in the next few days I should be getting a positive reading on my OTC ovulation kit in the next 5 days since I'm 5 days past my clomid? Am I understanding you correctly??

Yep, as long as you started taking the clomid on cycle day 3, it sounds right to me. Be sure to check other signs of ovulation too- egg white cervical mucous, AM temp checks... This whole process is a tricky one, hang in there. Lots of BABY DUST!
