Birth Control Question....

Hey!

I have a question for those of you who are familiar with BC.

I had a baby 6 months ago, and since then have been taking regular birth control, except for last month.

My first day of my last period was Nov 14th(Friday) and should have resumed my pills on the 16th (Sunday). We have been using condoms though.

I usually take the 21 day pills, so I should have stopped taking them on Dec 6th, and my period should have came on the 10th. This is now the 15th and AF is nowhere to be found.

Now, by stopping the BC, could that cause my period to be off? I'm always regular.
Or should I be taking a pregnancy test?

Lately I have been having headaches all the time, acid reflux (which I haven't had since I was pregnant) burning face.. and a wickid appetite.. It seems I can't eat enough!

I feel like a bit of a dummy here though, because I've been pregnant before, so you'd think I'd be able to tell if I was again right?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Re: Birth Control Question....

Sometimes when going off BCP they can mix your cycle up a bit and cause you to be late but I would take a pg test anyway just to make sure, but if you have been using condoms then the chances are unlikely. I would do a HPT anyway just to be sure and if it is neg then just try wait it out and see if AF decides to come.

Good luck

Re: Birth Control Question....

Doctors usually tell women who are trying to become pregnant after being on BCP to wait a few months until their periods "normalize" so that you have a better sense of your regular schedule, to better know when you ovulate and get your AF. So, it's probably just your body adapting, but as the other poster said, take an HPT to alleviate your curiosity, and then continue to use another form of BC if you're not planning on another baby.
