Question CRAZY! Blood in Urine but NO RBC..

    Hi,

Had a physical where urine was collected/analyzed. The Dr. said the dip stick showed positive for blood, but there were no RBC. He said that there was actually hemoglobin due to cells "breaking" and the hemoglobin then coming out into the urine. My question is, why would the cells be breaking/is that bad? The doctor did not seem very concerned about this, so I'm looking for other opinions. It is common in my family to have small amounts of blood in the urine (not visible). I also had a cystoscopy last year that came up totally negative. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!
