Post UTI

Hello I'm 16 years old and since I've been 5 years old I have reoccuring UTI's. I go to the doctor and he puts me on bactrim. Well I started getting symptoms for a UTI about a month ago so I went to the doctor and he put me on Cipro. This medication did not work for me and put me in a lot of pain, so the doctor put me on Bactrim again. I just finished my medication and it doesnt burn when i urinate anymore, i just have the urge to go alot and very little will come out and i get a tingly feeling. I was wondering if i still might have a UTI or something else.

When you go to the urologist with complaints of UTI, does he run a urine test to see if you actually have bacteria in your urine or does he just prescribe one of those antibiotics upon your complaints without any tests? He should be running urine test before prescribing any antibiotics. Has he ever looked into why you get frequent UTI?

Taking antibiotics frequently may damage the lining of your bladder not to mention that there are other damages that they could do to your entire system. Once a dentist prescribed me an antibiotic which gave me non-stop diarrhea for weeks.
