e coli in urine

I was just told i had an infection,ecoli in my urine,what is it and what causes it

Ecoli is a bacteria found in feces or poop. All this means is that your urinary tract has been exposed to poop. Everyone has Ecoli in there colon. It becomes a problem when it is exposed to our mouths or urinary tracts. In any case, it is really important to wipe from front to back when going to the bathroom, that's all.

My husband was recently in the hospital for e-coli in the urinary tract. How did he get it? I can understand a female getting it, but a man...
