I am concerned about a dead raccoon that I ran over on a highway a few weeks ago. I am concerned that there is a possibility of rabies transmission. When I got out of my car I was careful not to touch my car as I didn't know if there were any animal fluids on my car. When I opened my car door a short time later there was a wet spot under the handle. There had been not rain or water that my car went through. I am concerned that this was part of the animals body fluids. I did have a cut on my finger. I didn't know how long the rabies virus can live outside of the body and whatever it was hadn't dried. It was exposed to UV because it was under my door handle and it was night. I am so concerned about the possibility of rabies. Please advise.
