multivitamin and acne

Can a normal multivitamin cause acne? Right when i started to take one, i broke out. I know that with acne there can many other confounding variables that cause a breakout, so i dont wanna put all blame on the multi. I stopped taking it cuz im nervous it was the cause. i would appreciate any info, thanks.

Thumbs up Re: multivitamin and acne

Check the multivitamin for iodine content. Some people break out from iodine. Try one without iodine, if that is the case. Also, try to find one with only 100% of the RDA for the B-vitamins. It is best if the B's are balanced.

Good separate vitamins for acne include:

C (250 mg.)
Zinc (50 mg.)
E (400 i.u. - mixed tocopherols with gamma)
Beta carotene (25,000 i.u.)
