Question What is the relation between Vitamin C and citrus?

I know that some citrus fruits contain Vitamin C, but can Vitamin C be manufactured from these citrus products? I believe I am sensitive to citrus as I cannot tolerate orange juice, and I purchased Vitamin C containing bioflavanoids from citrus, and that also turned out to bother me. That had me thinking though, whether or not some Vitamin C NOT containing bioflavanoids from citrus is still MADE from citrus somehow. Could somebody please clear this up for me?
    Thanks,
    ~Katalina

    Hi,

I use Sisu buffered vitamin C.....it's made from Sago Palm. As well, if you purchase "ascorbic acid"....I read that it's made from corn..I didn't believe my father-in-law when he told me, but he was actually right in that one.

Do a few more checks on that and I will too and see what we find.

Ascorbic acid is made from corn? Wow, you would never know. I'm not sure what Sago Palm is, but I'm going to look that up
    Thanks, quincy.
