Can vitamin E cause headaches?

Some time ago, I took CoZ10 -- or whatever its called -- and often had a mild headache. (And I RARELY get them!) After not taking it, they went away, so I assumed that was the cause. Recently, I began taking 2 200IU's of E per day, and they seem to be returning. I then realized that the CoZ10 also contained vitamin E (for better absorbtion). Could the E be the trigger for the headaches?

Re: Can vitamin E cause headaches?

I would not think so. It should have no effect on this.

Re: Can vitamin E cause headaches?

Not to my knowledge- but it can cause muscle aches. I notice that when I take 400 IU of E that my arms start to ache from the elbow joints to the forearm muscles...

Re: Can vitamin E cause headaches?

Vitamin E keeps the blood platelets from sticking, and I believe it's a vasodilator.

I can only take 400 ( 200 twice daily).

Maybe divide the dosage, or stick to 200 daily.

Yes, I think it's possible to cause headaches, because you might be sensitive to Vitamin E in general.

I would suggest not taking them for at least 4 days, then take only 200mg daily for 4 days. If no headaches, then add the other 200 in the evening. See what happens.

It could be what kind you're using? There is the natural source mixed kind that might be better for you. Natural factors makes that.

It's all a matter of perspective!
