Testosterone Pills

Ok. I'm a teenager, and skinny as hell. Its not like I haven't hit puberty or have any sexual disfunctions, but I'm one of the skinniest kids in my grade and whenever I look at my wrists compared to my friends I just feel so useless. I work out alot, and it just doesn't work.. Then today my friend said he might try taking "testosterone pills". Of course I was like you mean steriods? So you can grow boobs and lose your penis. He then assured me that is no the case with these pills. No side affects he said. Is this true?

Re: Testosterone Pills

Testosterone pills are not something most people need.... if your having trouble bulking up large amounts of protein in your diet can help a lot. Look at some solid protein powder before you look at altering your hormone levels.

There are a lot of factors with bulking up, a good way to start would be to consult a professional trainer (most gyms have a few that might talk to you a bit for free, or for sure with a membership).

Before using a hormone treatment like testosterone be sure to consult a doctor because you will likely experience some undesired results.

As always if your looking at a large change in physical activity it would be wise to get a checkup/physical

Re: Testosterone Pills

My son was the same as you in High School , skinny and little then at 19 he started gaining weight and putting on muscles. I guess some guys hit their growth spurt later in life..... Dee

Re: Testosterone Pills

Yes there are side effects to testosterone especially if a doctor didn't prescribe it to you. [removed]

Re: Testosterone Pills

Stay away from pills from friends.
Research low dose HCG injections for males. It helps the testicles to produce more testosterone in many males.

If you do not have boobs, then your estrogen levels are probably OK.
If you do have puffy boobs, the your estradiol E2 may be too high.
It can be lowered.

Go to a doctor & tell him or her your problems.

If the "T" is too low ask him to try HCG before anything else.

Long term Testosterone supplements will shut down your testicles if they are producing, HCG will encourage more production.

If he does blood tests, then get a copy of each for your personal records.
In the US all you have to to is insist on a copy & they have to give them to you.

:::Note to mod. This should have been moved to Hormones, not vitamins.
