Calcium deficiency and twitching symptoms

Is Vitamin D deficiency the same as low calcium?? I want to talk to someone about this. I just had all the tests run. They say my calcium is real low. It came back at 8.3 and the normal range is 8.8 to 10.5 or something like that. I have had tons of muscle twitches daily all over my body. Painless, but alot of them. Like twitches in my eyelids, arms and legs etc... I have now taken calcium but still have the twitches. How long does it take to build that level up? They said my vitamin D was normal and my parathyroid is functioning normal. I do have hypothyroidism but as of 2 months ago that was running very controllable and normal. Whatever that means. So does anyone else have the low calcium or twitching thing? I would appreciate any response. Thanks!

I have the muscle twitching you're talking about except, my vit D was low and my calcium was normal, I started taking calcium with vit D and mag. I also had a sleep study done because my neuro doc did not think my muscle twitches were from the low vit D levels.

I did have sleep apenia, and once I started on the Bi-pap the majority of the muscle twitches are gone.

Try taking magnsium supplements alone for the twitching, it should do the job. Dont be afraid to take 1000mg a day.

Thanks! So the magnesium helps for twitches huh? I never heard of that but I really appreciate the help all of you!
