Vitamin D Deficiency Treatment and Aching

So, I've had some joint and nerve pain for years prior to my vitamin d diagnosis. I've had everything major ruled out to cause the joint, muscle, nerve pain. My labs were all normal two weeks ago except my vitamin d. It was 17. My doc put me on vitamin d3 50,000 via prescription once a week for 8 weeks then a recheck.

I took my second dose today. Even since my first dose I've had an ache in the muscles, joints even worse than they were before. I called my doc and I'm adding 250 magnesium a day to see if that helps. Otherwise I have to get checked out if the pains continue.

Has anyone had aches and pains with a high dose treatment for a vitamin d deficiency??

    Thanks!

I'm only on week two of my 8 week 50,000 IU treatment. My reading was 15 ng/ml.

My aches and pains have increased too. I read in other Vitiamin D sites that this is not unusual since the higher blood levels of D help the bones gain minerals and that can be painful as they rebuild themselves. I'm not sure about why my muscles are also sore.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes!
