I'm 5'9". I went from 180 pounds to 120 pounds; and got my blood sugar under control, without medications, by eating more. More often, that is. I went on a low calorie, low glycemic, small meal, frequent eating diet and rapidly lost weight.
I eat six small meals, about 250 balanced calories each meal, per day. My meal schedule is every 2 ½ hours; from 5:30am until 6pm. No snacking. By eating often, I can deal with my carvings because I know that, after I finish a tasty little meal, I have another one coming in a little while.
Plus, I exercise a lot. While I am exercising I am not thinking about food.
Of course, eating every 2 ½ hours is difficult to do if one is working. I am in my 70's and retired, so I, unfortunately, have a lot of free time to think about food.
