    Post Healthy Food Help

Hey everyone,i see lots of posts of Great weight-loss results, and i congradulate u all,you guys have, belive it or not, kept me going since i joined not too long ago.I have never been as possitive as i'am right now,and i have faith, with a little help from nice guys & girls here,i will succeed.i am alone,18 y/old & live with my dad,yes still, lol,i stay with my mom each tue-fri,and try and workout, using tips from friends here of course,& tring to eat right, but i gotta say,i don't know the least bit about "Low Carbs"
"Calories",or "Good Fats",i'am kinda scared also,i can't stop tring,i just need something that i have never had,help/motivation/tips.My parents have never helped me in any of those 3,no one has,not even at school,i hear so many different things here about carbs, calories, fats, low carbs, etc.i have no clue what is what and what will work.exercises/working out,i got it covered,i have had alot of help on that recently. But,its the food.My mom has been helping me with food, but i'm still scared, cuz of all kinds of stuff i have heard, for 2 weeks i was scared of eatting much, cuz of what things had, like,i would just drink water, instead of sometimes drinking orange juice or milk.I did'nt eat food for 1 week, was my 1st weight-loss plan, which with help from here, found out was wrong,no damage done tho,2nd week w/help from mom,ate nothing but veggies, white rice/water,no salt,no sugar,no grease/fat,which sucked so much,i'm like, there has to be some other foods i can eat, that dont taste like crap.tried some chicken which wasent bad,ate it with veggies/rice/water,still no salt.went back to my house and ate some mac and cheese, mistake, lol,oh,well i didnt gain anything from it tho,but still,it wasent good to do.I also started to drink small V8 veggie Juices.I havent had any burgers, pizza, fried chicken etc. fats like that in over a month, which is good.I last week bought
TrimSpa EF,have been taking it,and i also got some cerial, called "Total",dunno if any of u have heard of it,i think its pretty good, its whole grain, and has many vitamins.I'm eatting it every morning after taking TrimSpa now,not alot neitheir, small bowls not that much milk.I have also ate once again mac & cheese yesterday and day before,a small hot pockets breakfast,um..whatever they are,i figured,i ain't eatting much plus im taking trimspa, but still i dont like that.Ok,i'm pouring out all the stuff that i have done over the past weeks til now,I'm still lost tho,Is there a way someone can help me out with what are carbs/low carbs, which do i need, and stuff. What things are perfect to eat,and stuff?
I hope someone can help somehow. If i can get maybe a list of pure diet/healthy foods to buy,i will go and try and get them all,my problem is,not me or my parents know of helathy foods to get,all i know of is veggies, but i need specific things,i havent found a site that gives out perfect meals to eat each day, maybe guys/girls that have dialy diets that work' can kinda share, like maybe tell me what exactly to buy to make me the healthy food u guys/girls eat each day.because i see alot of posts that say,try low carb diets, and stuff, yet they dont mention what they are.Like i said,i no nothing about food.never cared before about whats in what i ate.I do not know what juices are good to drink,i Have to drink alittle orange juice sometimes because i was alsmost Fainting with sticking with pure water for 2 weeks almost, orange juice gives me energy,But,am i doing wrong by drinking it? See maybe i should be drinking something else that also gives as much energy as OJ but also a good diet drink.Fruits,I have had apples only, banansa & oranges,i heard had,of cousre sweet,so i dunno what fruits will not harm me in dietting.Veggies,i havent had the fresh kinds,i have had the frozen packs, the natural ones,no preservs or whatever, maybe their the same, dunno, they have carrots, broccolly, green beans, peas, celery, colleflower,
etc. Some fatless/skinless chicken. And i still feel lost.I would really like to know if i can have a list of perfect foods to buy, what to eat for lunch & dinner
    and stuff,am i doing good by what i have had,drinks,and stuff,cerial?

I want this,i need this, real bad,i need this more than anything in the world,my future really depends on losing weight & getting fit.I will do whatever it takes.I just need a DIET,thats all i need a proper Diet that works and that i can do for months, maybe i can have more than 1 diet,to change every day or 2.
I know i will get to where i wanna be with exercising, working out & eatting RIGHT.I just know it.
i dont workout for 20-30min like i should,or do much cardio,i now know what cardio is,lol, thx again to help from this board,i now will exercise right,do the right exercises, & for the right amount of time too.Swimming, walking, running, jogging, str etches,sit-ups,jumpping jacks,& as much push-ups as i can, maybe more exercises if i forgot some. Each 3-4 days a week,i'll go for 4-days tho.Weight lifting,I will soon get,A top of the line Ultimate Workout 9 Station Home Gym,since i dont have any way of getting to gyms, near where i live.
I will have many great things to do,but i'm sure the gym is more for body building, which i still need, but i 1st more than anything, say i need to lose weight.
Well i weigh 165lb right now,and wanna go to 130lb,it may be to small so maybe i just need to go as far as 145lb or so,i have no clue.I don't wanna just start working out on a gym without losing weight, cuz i think doing so would build muscle, yet keep the fat, which i do not want.My dream is to be a World Wrestling Entertainment Superstar (Wrestler),(WWE,used to be WWF) for those who don't know. And i dont wanna be a big thick muscle/fat wrestler,i wanna have a normal average body.I also need too be in good shape fast so that i can get in a wrestling school,i just want to be prepared.I don't want to go into a school with sorta build guys & girls and have them kick my,u know.I also will be getting a bench, weights etc. with my Gym.So like i said the working out/exercises,i got covered.Just need proper Diets,i tried the Subway subs, and i couldnt depend on buying subs each week.I really don't think i have ever made such a huge post like this b4,lol.Well to end this already,Help would be appreciated more than u could imagine.I would love to be apart of that Weight check that is going on here each week, just need to some results, which by the way havent seen much,i think i have lost maybe 5.lbs tops, not sure about that tho.I know i am 165 right now and i feel i was over 170 before starting anything,i check myself each week at moms tho. Here are some questions i would like answered if posseble:

Is Total Whole Grain Cerial good for breakfast?
Is Orange Juice Ok to have?
Should i stick to just Water?
Is there specific Juices/drinks i can drink, that wont help me gain, but stay losing weight?
Any vitamins/health shakes i should be taking to help?
What would be the best diet, that will work?
What are the right times i should exercise/workout,
    And before of after eatting?
Are V8 35 Calorie small juices good to drink each day?
And maybe let me know on perfect eatting times,
    like breakfast time (Example) 6:00am
Lunch time ??? Dinner ??? etc.
cuz i heard you shouldnt eat at certain times.

Ok,i hope i ain't asking for alot here,If i can get help with all my questions,i would be eternally greatful!!!!

Good Luck to everyone who has weight-loss goals
& Thank You so much for taking the time to help me out with a few tips, answers to questions, and stuff.

    Take Care
    -jay.

Sure, you can eat grain cereal for breakfast. My breakfast consists of 1/2 cup fiber one, 1/2 cup junkfood cereal (like Peanut Butter Puffs), and 1/2 cup soy milk--I actually do measure out the amounts.

Orange juice is fine, I just count the calories and keep track of it. I drink water, and aim for at least 96 fl oz every day. Water will not make you gain weight. If you prefer something flavored, I use crystal light sometimes, to help me drink more fluids. There are also fruit flavored waters that you can drink.

I take vitamins daily, but the ones I take are to supplement my diet, because I lost my taste for red meats, and because some have putative benefits to people with heart disease (which I qualify for).

The best diet, honestly, is one that you can adhere to, keep up with, enjoy, and not feel like you need to revert back. I don't use any diet other than avoidance of junk foods primarily, coupled with moderation of some of the more fatty foods. I count and keep track of calories, and exercise. Those combined have allowed me to drop from 227 lbs to 155 lbs in a little over a year. The last 4 mos I have remained between 152 and 162 lbs.

There are some claims that exercise is better first thing in the morning--but the important part is that you do exercise at all. I wake up at 4:10 am every morning and run just over 3 miles. On most days I take a 40 min walk during lunch time, then again a 20 min walk in the evening. Some days I just do a 40 min walk at home. I prefer to run on an empty stomach in the morning--and then eat after the shower. I usually eat prior to my walks.

V8 juices are fine. I also watch my sodium intake when I consume a lot of canned food items (soups add a lot of sodium to my diet). I don't think there are perfect times to eat really. I prefer to eat my last meal by 6 pm each day so that I don't go to bed with my stomach feeling full. That full feeling is uncomfortable to me. I also prefer to eat my large meal in the evening. Some prefer a larger lunch and smaller dinner. Its probably better to balance the caloric intake across at least 3 meals, and possibly with a few snacks in between. I lost most of my weight eating 6 small meals a day. I am maintaining eating 3 meals a day with one snack after work, before dinner.

    Good luck

Which diet is best? That's a hard one to answer because people are different and they way they ate in order to get overweight is different. So it takes some experimenting to see what makes you feel good and also does not put on excess weight.

Fat? Yes, everyone needs some. The recommended amount varies. Nearly everyone agrees that the best fats to eat are the ones found olive oil; fatty fish like salmon and mackerel; avocados; nuts. The fats to avoid as much as possible (if not entirely, though that can be difficult) are trans-fats, listed on the label as hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils/fats.

I'll give you an example of some of the things I eat when I am doing my diet...

    Breakfast....

3 egg whites scrambled and cooked in Pam cooking spray..OR a cup of healthy cereal and 1/2 cup skim milk OR 1 piece of toast with peanutbutter.

    Mid morning snack...

cottage cheese, about a 1/2 cup, usually with fruit, OR yogurt with fruit.

    lunch.......

a large salad with a packet of white tuna in it and light done right catalina. (YUM) You can also put chopped up chicken pieces in it instead. OR some days I have a sandwich on whole wheat bread, lean deli meat or leftovers from the night before. I use light miracle whip, but just a little. Or I also like cucumber or tomatoe sandwiches. YUM.

    afternoon snack......

usually fruit, or cut up veggies, or cheese sticks..

    Dinner......

grilled or baked chicken breast, no skin, and green beans

grilled or baked pork chop, fat removed, and tossed salad

lean steak baked or grilled with asparagus.....

(meat and veggie, mix it up how ever you want)

sometimes for snack I'll have jello or even low fat frozen yogurt.

I just try and stay under 1200 calories and 25 grams fat..

Again this is just an example of what I eat on a GOOD day. some days I do cheat a little here and there. You can NOT deprive yourself of everything or your chances of binging are higher....

    good luck!!

You saw what my breakfast was in the original post.

My lunch today will be a 19 oz can of grilled chicken italiano soup, with some tabasco added for flavor. I will drink water with it.

After work snack: 10 soy crisps, 1 apple

For dinner tonight, I will have 4-6 oz of salmon, baked with thyme, 4 cloves of garlic and lime juice. (On Tues/Thurs I pick up salmon from the market after work). I buy one wheat roll from the bakery by the market. I will also buy some fresh asparagus from the grocer, and eat about 4 spears steamed.

My main course, however, is the salad, which will have 2 cups mixed greens, 2 oz onions, 1 oz carrots, 3 oz mushrooms, 1 oz soy cheese (shreds), 1/2 medium artichoke heart (in oil), 2 Tbsp Balsamic vinegar (in place of dressing), 4 medium greek peppers, 2 stuffed olives, 1/2 beefsteak tomato.

and the most important part... 1 glass of red wine (I think tonight I will open up an Italian--Sangiovese).

For dessert: 1 crepe with ~1/5 dry pint fresh blueberries, a bit of ground cinnamon and 2 tsp splenda. I top it with a low fat whipped topping (one where hydrogenated oils are not part of the ingredients).

The net total of calories for the day should be around 1600-1800, but I will get a better idea as the day progresses.
